Settings are different for POP3 access and IMAP access.
POP3 is standard protocol that provides simple, standardized way for users to access incoming e-mails
stored on a mail server and download them to their computers. In this case all incoming messages
and attachments are downloaded to the user computer and server do not hold them anymore except the
situation when "Leave messages on server" is checked. But use this option ("Leave messages on server")
carefully, because when mailbox is full, any other incoming messages are bounced to sender
with mailbox full statement. Therefore it is recommended to trash some unnecessary messages
via webmail while using option of leaving messages on server. After the moving of unnecessary
messages to trash it is needed to purge the Trash, because it is still occupying your mailbox.
IMAP is the successor of the POP protocol. It is system where the mail resides on the server
instead of the client application. IMAP protocol is used to retrieve email messages from mail
server and to read and manipulate messages and folders stored on a server as well.
IMAP's advantage could appreciate users who need the same look of folders and messages on many
computers including webmail at the same time.
As for mailbox capacity, there is need to check size status sometimes, because standard mailbox size
is set to 500 MB and in case of mailbox full status any other incoming messages are bounced
to sender with mailbox full statement.
Due to security reasons only encrypted mail access is enabled outside the SES network.
There is only allowed TLS (transport layer security) connection with authentication for sending mail
via port 25 of smtp.ses.sk server outside the SES network. Name and password used for authentication
is the same as for webmail login.
